Proud Augustinian

*super late post, i wasnt able to post this because of our sucky internet connection and i was in Cebu for the past few days. Anyway, here it is.

I should’ve known that #ItsMoreFunInCsa trend on Twitter was gonna get to me.

I spent a good 13 years of my life growing up as an Augustinian, and no matter where I am now, how long it’s been and how cliché it may sound, the thought of it all comforts me like the thought of home.

It was in CSA where I found the most perfect set of best friends. I know my way around Festival Mall and Alabang Town Center better than my own neighborhood, effortlessly commuting all the way there after Christmas parties or periodical exams, all while naming at least 20 people I meet on the way. I know the lyrics to our Alma Mater song, CSA March and etc by heart. It’s also in CSA where I got to attend masses minimum of 3x a week and when our president back then father Par is frowning when he is conducting the mass, you know what it is and you know what to do..repeating the certain song at the mass because most students aren’t singing loud enough. I know Super Mario, Kuya Cute, Manang Cristy are. I also knew what exactly to order during breaks and lunches, my favorites are quesadilla, mini sub with iced tea (less ice). For lunch I usually ate pulutok, lechon kawali or bugong chicken because of the overflowing gravy. I also find it amusing that every year we had a lot of intersection competitions and it always had the same act when practicing for it. The leader would usually get mad then he/she will walk out. Intrams week and foundation week are the most fun moments in CSA because we had lots of food stalls and rides. I always remember how I’ll always ask someone before going out of the classroom to ask what the forbidden thing in the prison booth is. I spent a huge chunk of my stay in CSA at the audigym—be it during dances, concerts, masses, programs and competitions. And remember those number stickers on the bleachers? I still have it up to now. I’ve been scolded many times for eating/texting/talking too much in class, overstaying. I also dreaded the day when Mrs. Bancoro made me stand on my chair because I wasn’t able to answer her question when I was in 4th grade, or how one look of Ms. Victoria and Mrs. Velasco would made me wish I’m in somewhere else. I also love Fridays in CSA because of shortened periods and the staple post CAT snack which is large red apple C2 and yakisoba. Aaand who can never forget the infamous tunnel suntukan, the manila hotel incident, where some students were kicked out of the hotel room and slept in the lobby because of noisiness and the viral spreading, ever memorable Bagong Karanasan.

I could go on and on—I would love to, really, but as it is always the case when I start to get too caught up with my reminiscing, my mental to do list comes right in front of me. So here I am, falling back to the reality that I’m not in high school anymore. It takes a lot of energy for me to maintain my composure whenever someone asks “Where’s that??” after I tell them where I studied in high school.

Never heard?

Well, sucks to be you.

DGS and DGG Christmas Party

My HS barkada held its annual christmas party/gathering on Dec. 29, 2011 at Whistlestop on Westgate-Alabang. It was almost a year when i attended our last gathering, so it was really nice to some of them. I super missed them! :) After we ate at Whistlestop, we went to Nyco's house to drink and play King's cup. It was actually my first time to play that game and i really had fun doing it. Finally, I also got the chance to meet nyco and tin's baby boy named Marcus..such a cute baby! :)

Here are some pictures that night...

This would be more fun if were complete though..

Despite their busy work schedules (naks! work na ngayon) im really glad our plans pushed through this night. I love it that no matter how busy we all are in whatever it is that were doing, we still find time to have dinners together. I hope we do this more often and i really hope the others can make it next time. I love these guys forever.

Christmas Day

We usually spend our christmas eve at our house, but this year it's different. We went to my tita Arlene's house in Batangas to spend the christmas eve and christmas day. Were also celebrating it extra special this year because our relatives from canada came home to spend christmas with us. It's really nice to see them all once again, especially my nephew Dylan who's all grown up right now. It was fun catching up with them and hearing stories about their lives in Canada.

I was a bit sad when we didnt play games on christmas day. We usually had games like pinoy henyo, hephep hooray, relay and etc. I guess, my cousins and I are too old for those things. I was looking forward to it pa naman because we really had fun playing and i could really use the cash prizes right now ;)

Nevertheless, I still enjoyed christmas with my family, it really is the most wonderful time of the year :)
